The latest entry into the nightlife bar scene of Phnom Penh is The Factory on street 104. Built over a building that previously housed a hotel, this bar is spacious with both a downstairs main area and a lounge upstairs. One can tell that much thought was put into the decor as The Factory presents its clientele with a unique look. The walls are lined with bricks and looks reminiscent of an old school private men's club, even boasting of a fire place. Everything from the floor tiles to the chairs all appear new and the bar overall is very clean and kept in great condition.
The upstairs lounge keeps the same theme and is a great place to hang out for large groups.
The hostesses themselves are young, friendly and attentive to all customers. There is no dress code for the staff but yet each lady present themselves in a manner that matches the classy environment of the bar. They mix it up well with different promotional events and the bar is known to show popular sporting events on their many television sets and stay open to accommodate customers who are sports fans. Although the establishment is new, drinks are reasonably priced and the bar is stocked with a full selection of liquors, beer and wine.
Street 104 is still a lively part of the Phnom Penh nightlife and The Factory is the latest entry to boost the status of this area in the overall landscape of the city.
So many bars, so little time
Whether you want a $0.50 beer or an exotic cocktail, Cambodia has it all. Drinking is a favorite past time in this country so expect to see reviews and photos from dozens, if not hundreds, of bars throughout the country. Of course then there are the bars not exactly known nor popular for their drinks ;)
