There are many words that come to mind when I think of the Riverking Poker Club, but the main one that jumps to the forefront is comfort. This room was built to give a premier experience for both locals and tourists alike. The room is expansive with four tables comfortably spaced apart with plush chairs. The walls are adorned with art and big screen TVs and the servers will immediately say hello and make sure that all needs are met for every player. Food and drinks are completely free for every player with no time accrued. Players can order anything off of the menu as soon as they walk in the door, even if they are just on the waiting list. There are separate smoking areas and lounges for visitors and players alike to rest in between games.
As of this writing, the Riverking spreads a daily game of $1-$1 and $1-$3 no limit hold'em, often getting 2-3 tables, and a bigger $5-$5 pot limit omaha game that is the only game of it's kind here in Cambodia. The room will also spread virtually any game upon request as the dealers are expert at most games. At the time of this writing, several players are waiting for a special 6-max $1-$2 5-card PLO game. The dealers are expert in managing the game, getting out each hand quickly and being familiar with all rulings. The management staff is efficient in running the floor as well and watch over a room full of players that need their constant attention. On top of the free food the poker room also runs several promotions daily including rakeback of $20 for the players who start the game each day at 12:00 PM and play until at least 4:00 PM. They also have a bad beat jackpot that is up to near $30K at this point and high hand payouts three times daily.
The rake for their intro game of $1-$1 NLH is certainly high, and in the opinion of this writer unbeatable. But to be fair the rake on every other game is quite equitable and more than beatable. The room is completely transparent about the rake and any other similar info regarding the room as most things are posted inside for public viewing. There is also a cashier on site for player convenience, they will also change out Bitcoin for chips and vice versa. And the management staff is quite capable of helping all players with any other issues such as accommodations, transportation and even visa renewals.
The poker club also throws a popular monthly tournament that guarantees a prize pool of $5,000 for a buy in of only $50 (rebuy/addon). It draws players from all over the region including outside of Cambodia and often pushes the prize pool close to $10K. The Riverking Poker Club is centrally located on street 172 near Pontoon Club and many other sites. Refer to their Facebook page for more info.
